Town of Oakville Receives Funding for North Park - Dundas / Neyagawa
Trio of Companies Contribute to Development 
The Town of Oakville is thankful to Mattamy Homes, Great Gulf Group and Trinison Management for their contribution of $15 million towards the development and construction of North Park.
The complex, located on Neyagawa Boulevard just north of Dundas Street, already includes the newly opened Sixteen Mile Sports Complex. The 196,000 square foot state-of-the-art quad pad arena opened in September 2010. The facility features one Olympic-sized ice pad with seamless glass and seating for 1,500 spectators, three NHL-sized ice pads, 22 change rooms, two multi-purpose community rooms, two practice pads and a full-service restaurant.
Future plans include two full-size soccer fields, a splash pad, children's playground, a skateboard park, a BMX track, a community centre and a library.
"North Park will be the cornerstone of Oakville's newest neighbourhoods north of Dundas Street," said Mayor Rob Burton. "The fulfillment of this agreement shows a dedication to putting the community first."
This is great news for people living in Northwest Oakville, as it gives them a world-class recreation centre close to home. This will result in the area becoming more desirable to live in, and will help raise the value of homes there. Northwest Oakville is already a very popular area, and this will ensure that real estate in northwest Oakville only becomes more sought-after in coming years.
